Alistair's Eccentric Bottom Bracket Heat Sink

Alistair made this heat sink to reduce bottom bracket distortion while brazing. He made it on his lathe and then came over to use the bandsaw to cut it in half.

  • We put a cheap drill press vise in the bandsaw vise to hold the heat sink. The tubing on the right side of the vise is a stop block for the bandsaw to keep it from cutting into the vise.
  • Making the cut. We cut half, flipped it over, and cut the other half. There was a small bridge left between them which Alistair finished off with a hacksaw.
