Place the dummy axle (not provided with the kit) into the bottom of the axle clamp. The center section of the dummy axle should fit precisely into the groove.

  • This is everything that is included in the fork fixture kit
  • Thread 1/4-20 x 5/8" bolts through the joining plates and loosely attach the larger size T-Nuts to the other side.
  • Use two of the joining plates to attach the V-block to the jig's keel.
  • You want to tighten each bolt carefully to keep these two pieces properly aligned. The V-block and the keel must be aligned, which can be checked with a straight edge.
  • Assemble the pivots. The inside section of the pivots uses smaller T-Nuts than the outside part.
  • Assemble the fork blade support by putting the 1/2" rod through the small section of extrusion, then tightening the set screw. You may want to deburr the ends of the rod.
  • Put the extrusion into the upper section of each pivot assembly.
  • Slide the lower portion of the pivot assembly over the jig's keel. Carefully check to make sure that everything is square before tightening the bolts.
  • Put the remaining two joining plates onto the front of the keel. Arrange the T-Nuts so that they are pointing up.
  • Slide the riser into the joining plates and carefully tighten all fasteners, making sure that the riser is square and aligned.
  • Cut the axle clamp in half.
  • Clean up the edges of the axle clamp. Be careful not to remove too much material.
  • Place the dummy axle (not provided with the kit) into the bottom of the axle clamp. The center section of the dummy axle should fit precisely into the groove.
  • Put the top of the axle clamp over the dummy axle and secure into place using two 1/4" x 5/8" bolts.
  • Put a 1/4-20 x 7/8" bolt through the remaining hole in the axle clamp and put a T-Nut on the back side.
  • The dummy axle slides into the front of the riser.
  • Use the #10-32 bolts and nuts to mount the toggle clamp onto the mounting plate.
  • Put two 1/4-20 x 5/8" bolts through the bottom of the mounting plate and loosely attach the T-Nuts.
  • Mount the clamp fixture to the V-block and tigthen all bolts.
  • The blade support can quickly be used to check that the blades are square, and folds out of the way when brazing for increased brazing clearance.
